ABOUT US - THE STORY OF THE HEBRON CHRISTIAN CENTER
The Christian Center Hebron Association was established out of the desire to create a Christian environment where friendship and fellowship are the foundation of our gatherings and activities. We operate in the locality of Spinus, Bihor County.
HOW DID THE CHRISTIAN CENTER HEBRON COME TO BE AND WHY "HEBRON"?
My name is Kocze Iosif, I am married to Kocze Agnita and we have two children together, Marius-Ernest and Mariana, both of whom are married. In the year 2000, we bought a house, and in the same year, an older couple than us, Postma Albert and Ada from the Netherlands, also bought a house in the same locality, less than a kilometer from our home.
Our first meeting was at the Pentecostal church in the locality, the church I had founded and where I was a leader at that time. After a few meetings, Albert began to tell me something very important, namely how God sent him 1700 km for a person. Neither he nor I knew who that person was, but I felt in my heart that it was me.
We quickly became friends. Albert visited me often because I had a back problem, and he was a doctor. In February 2003, at Albert's insistence, I went to the Netherlands, to a hospital, for further investigations. There I started a therapy that helped me greatly.
At Albert and Ada's house, prayer and Bible study programs were held every week, and on Sundays the church program was also at their home.
At the entrance, above the door, it was written large "HEBRON", which primarily meant FELLOWSHIP.
WHERE IS THIS ,,HEBRON'' FROM?
Albert Postma had several conferences a year in different places around the world and always visited a group of brothers in India where he had a very close friend named Bakht Singh, who was somewhat of a mentor to Zac Poonen as well. The church where they met was called HEBRON. So Hebron is primarily a name of a location in the Bible, a name that is mentioned many times in the Bible, for example: we have a biblical reference in Genesis 13:18..
This name was given to a very large church in India by Bakht Singh, and under the same name operated the group led by Albert Postma in the Netherlands, who became my spiritual mentor for many years. I thank good God for these wonderful people. Albert often came to Romania; we spent a lot of time together and helped many families, with me being the secretary in his organization.At one point, he became very ill and could no longer travel, then he asked me for something that seemed impossible to accomplish. He said to me: "Joseph, I don’t have much time left to live on this earth, but after I leave, I want you to continue what I started."
I didn't answer him anything, but in my mind there were two responses:
1. "I CAN'T" because I am too poor to continue. This work requires a lot of money.
2. "I DON'T KNOW" I am not professionally prepared to lead such a grand project. In a word, I saw no solution to continue. In my mind and heart, those words always echoed, "You must carry on what I have started." After many years, during the coronavirus pandemic, I received a call from a brother named Sorin Maier who invited me to a meeting in Cluj with Mario Bruhlmann for some courses I participated in. Something happened here; a fire ignited within me, and I began to have hope and think about the project and the task I had received many years ago; I started to see more solutions, etc. I talked more closely with Mr. Mario, and he encouraged me a lot; he even invited me to attend other meetings where I could learn more things I needed. So, in 2023, without any hesitation, I established the HEBRON CHRISTIAN CENTER ASSOCIATION, this time in Romania, with the thought of working on that beautiful dream."to carry on"
the work that my beloved and good friend Albert Postma started.
I thank God who, at the right time, brought people into my life who shaped me into who I am today, the President of the Hebron Christian Center Association. I pray that through us as an organization, many people will find their place and path in life.
A biblical verse says: Ecclesiastes 3:11 "He has made everything beautiful in its time."
